I am informed by a letter from Mr. Hazeland, dated the 6th instant, that there is a charge against me to this effect:-

I am also called upon, "in accordance with Colonial Regulation No.84 to state in writing within 3 days from this date (6th instant) any grounds upon which I may rely to exculpate myself."
In reply, I beg to state that my defence lies in my letter of the 30th ultimo to the Registrar. I sincerely hope and trust that the statements made therein may be found sufficient to exculpate me from any blame.
It was not without a struggle that Mr. Rahuman finally succeeded to cross with ink Mr. Ramjahm's name on the official Summary Jurisdiction list I had written, and Mr. Brown, if called upon, will certainly attest to this fact.
